Promotion of the rural sector

Egis Bdpa has a great deal of experience in the field that has followed changes brought about by official development assistance funding agencies:

Agricultural development projects; integrated rural development projects; restructuring programmes for the agricultural sector; land management programmes up until the emergence of local development projects; support projects in rural environment structuring and strengthening of farming and/or professional organisations.

Today Egis Bdpa’s rural activities are organised around three main areas of intervention:

  • Rural development: regional studies; basic surveys; development project feasibility studies; preparation of master plans; project/operator implementation; technical assistance; setting up of a monitoring and evaluation systems or GIS and institutional support.
  • Sector development: improvement of production systems; sector studies and restructuring; assistance to the private sector; quality improvement; sector information system; evaluation of export opportunities; identification of emerging sectors, etc.
  • Rural environment structuring: assistance to farming and/or community organisations; development of services to producers (consultancy for the family businesses, financial services, research, etc.); assistance to professional organisations and contracting authorities.

For these sectors, Egis Bdpa places its approach and its activities within a more global way of thinking, integrating: making local stakeholders responsible for their development, sustainable development and the poverty reduction .

Our subsidiary SATEC Développement International participates amongst others in these subjects: stockbreeding , food security , environment and fishing .
