Economic development
Economic development mainly relies on the private sector. In particular, its dynamic depends on the activity of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME) as well as micro-enterprises, which, due to weaknesses in their structures, are those that need most support. Today, faced with globalisation, SMEs require an environment that favours their development.
Egis Bdpa participates in developing the private and financial sectors and provides expertise in four specific fields:
- Development of small- and medium-sized enterprises:
Creating and assisting the promotion of SMEs and SME consultancy agencies; strengthening management skills; auditing; supporting and updating companies; advising and assisting financial institutions so as to improve the SMEs’ financial environment and conditions for accessing financing; accessing venture capital funds; developing incubators; developing innovative projects and creating innovation and technology centres responsible for promoting hi-tech SMEs.
- Institutional support and economic development policies:
Institutional support for restructuring companies; development policies for the private sector; commercial policies; innovation policies; regional development and integration policies and their consequences in terms of legislation and regulations.
- Export and investment promotion:
Preparing business plans and market surveys; researching export opportunities and partners; accompanying entrepreneurs in commercial activities; supporting investment promotion organisations; export and investment promotion policies.
- Financial sector reform:
Updating the banking and insurance sector; supervisory bodies; reforming the capital market system; assisting business schools in teaching finance.
